Spot report – Chido Museum in Tsuruoka (2024-12-01)

Webmaster visited Chido Museum in Tsuruoka City of Yamagata Prefecture in the afternoon of the same day when I visited Kamo Aquarium.

Chido Museum is an open air museum consisting of four old/historic buildings, a Japanese garden, and some other exhibition houses.

Several buildings are located in its spacious precincts.

 

This is former Shibuya Family’ House. When I visited, a carpenter was repairing thatched roof.

Former retirement residence of Lord Sakai is located next to the garden.

There is an exhibition of historical/cultural properties of the region in the storehouse.

 

Many instruments and products used on the past days are exhibited.

 

Well, after enjoying Chido Museum, I took bus to Tsuruoka Station, then, took an express train for going back home.

 

I bought ekiben (a boxed meal) with five kinds of sea foods at the station and took it in the train. It was very nice.
