Webmaster took Hakone-komagatake Ropeway this week. It was a very clear day providing a nice view.
Access: Tokyo (shinkansen 0:37) Odawara (bus 1:20) Hakone’en (walk 0:05) @
The bus trip started from Odawara Station.
As it was a weekday in winter, not so many people visit to Hakone. In fact I was the only passenger from the middle of the trip until the final stop.
At the final bus stop, Hakone’en which is located at the shore of Lake Ashinoko. Hakone-komagatake Ropeway starts here.
Can you see the gondola is going up?
In the gondola. We could see Mt. Fuji.
When the gondola started, only the top of Mt. Fuji was seen.
But, as the gondola went up, it showed until its foot.
The other gondola went passed downward.
And Lake Ashinoko was now far below. A pleasure boat could be seen on the lake.
Finally, the gondola arrived at the top station. It was -3℃ degree there!! Although it was sunny day, the wind was very very cold!!! Mt. Fuji can be seen to the north-west.
Hakone-motomiya Shrine is settled on the top of Komagatake Peak
Footpaths are well provided. It takes for ten to fifteen minutes on foot to the shrine.
During the walk, Lake Ashinoko and further mountains can be seen to the west.
Even I could see Sagami Gulf which is a part of Pacific Ocean to the east.
I prayed for the health of my family and friends in the shrine before going down.
Although it is not always sunny through a year, you would enjoy magnificent landscape if you visit here on a fine day.
End.
