After visiting Juroku-rakan-iwa, Webmaster took train from Fukura Station to Sakata Station for about 20 minutes, and visited Kakubu-en Japanese Garden and Sankyo-soko Storeouses in Sakata.

Sakata Station
Kakubu-en is a five-minute walk from Sakata Station, which is a stroll-type landscape garden built in 1813 and designated as Place of Scenic Beauty.
When I visited in the late afternoon, the sunlight was unfortunately not very favorable for taking brilliant photos.
Seien-kaku is a villa in the garden which was used as a guesthouse for feudal lords.

Then, I headed to Sankyo-soko Storehouses. It takes about 20 minutes on foot from Kakubu-en Garden. Of course you can use a taxi or a public bus for visiting there.
They consist of 12 storehouses built in 1893 and used until 2022 for storing rice and other agricultural products. In the modern times, Sakata was an important port for marine transport.
The other side of the warehouses. The row of zelkova is impressive.
The evening sunlight illuminated the storehouses and trees.
Twilight at the fishing port
I took grilled fish for supper in a seafood restaurant near the port.
End.
