We need to show our respect to our ancestors who developed these terraces with non-modern equipment.
To my regret, many terraced paddy fields are abandoned in Japan because of its low productivity. Agriculture is not a profitable industry in this country today. Even in this Kamo-tanada, some terraces are not cultivated this year.
In the same day, Webmaster visited a beech forest called Bijin-bayashi, too. It is secondary forest but regrows beautifully. There provided some walking trails.
End.
