I stayed at a hotel next to Tsuruga Station. The station square and commercial buildings were very beautiful.
Especially, I loved the bookshop in it. It was very comfortable and relaxing.
In the following day, I started walking from the hotel to Kehi-jingu Shrine which took for 15minutes.

After the shrine, I went to the seaside area through old quarter.
Unfortunately, when I arrived at the seaside it became cloudy and a little bit windy.
Kanegasaki Park with a boardwalk is located in the seaside area. It must be finer if it’s sunny. Very few people were walking in the park this day.
Beside the park, there is Port of Humanity Tsuruga Museum. It was open in 2008 and renewed in 2020. It is not big but lovely building.
The museum shows us the history of Polish orphans and Jewish refugees who disembarked at Tsuruga Port in 1920s and 1940s respectively for their future. Regrettably, I cannot show you the photos of the exhibitions because it is prohibited in the majority of the exhibition.
After the museum I visited to Tsuruga Akarenga Warehouses constructed in 1905 which is also located in the area. It consists of two warehouses both of which are not used as warehouses anymore, but used for touristic attractions.

One of them is dedicated to exhibit a diorama called Nostalgic Diorama which recreates old, between 1900s to 1930s, Tsuruga in scale of one to eighty. The size is 27meter long and 7.5meter width. They say it is one of the biggest dioramas in Japan.
A video is played in every 30 minutes, which shows the life of citizen in Tsuruga in that time.
Of course, miniature trains run on it as a nature of a diorama. Very pleasant!
But what I impressed most was hundreds of miniature dolls on it which represent the real life of citizens.
I don’t know how many dolls on it, but everywhere there are. Even beside the ship there are many who want to see off the passengers, although it cannot see well on my photo. It is worth coming to see the diorama.
The other house is used for two restaurants, a coffee shop and a souvenir shop. I decided to take lunch here and entered the seafood restaurant. I enjoyed sashimi bowl. It was very delicious.
After the lunch, I walked to the station again and took train for going home.
Please come and enjoy Tsuruga!
End.
